Appearance Lok Breed have greenish brown-hued skin, often highlighted with brighter colors. They can morph their bodies to slowly gain size and strength advantages, and often fashion custom weapons with their own bodies. And because of this, they are feared in battle.
Background The Lok Breed are in fact an offshoot of a Spectral race. Long ago, Lok Spectrals realized the unique ability to mutate their bodies at will, and later uncovered the ability to produce offspring without Core. Thus they grew quickly in numbers and power. For this, they were shunned by other Spectrals and the Avagarsians. Lok Spectrals without Core were dubbed “Breeders.” And now, the “Lok Breed.”
Pure Lok Spectrals still exist, but very few and they are mostly unknown. The Elders will not spark their Core, so once a pure Lok Breed is destroyed, their Cores lay dormant.
After establishing dominance in the eastern regions of Pampali, their first encounters with the Avagarsians were anything but peaceful. The two species battled for many years, hence the eventual creation of the Great Gate, built by the Avagarisans to keep the Lok Breed from their lands. Eventually two respected leaders formed a peace treaty and established a mutually beneficial trade system. While they often still live up to their barbaric reputation, in recent past they have become more diplomatic and peaceful, building a more structured and complex society.
Location The Lok Breed species is centered in the city of Mogg on the boarder of Lok Swamp and the Tay-Lo Flatlands, just north of the Jetstone Tops. They populate much of the area east of the Great Wall, including the lakeside city of Tor Bol and the Mai-So Forest.
They are not well suited for the desert, as they are heavy and use energy quickly. (This was a major factor in the eventual stalemate with the Avagarsians.) They prefer a cool, wet habitat.
